Lightswept Photography | Mississippi Portrait Photographer
Light is the most important part of a photograph. I mean, aside from equipment, knowledge, and all the other stuff that makes it work. Yes, there's also Photoshop. But think about it...if the lighting isn't just right, the whole shot is ruined. And it's not just what light can do for a photograph. There's so much more that is blesses. I love the way the light sweeps across a field at dawn. It's so beautiful and dreamlike. It's inspiring...
For 2 years I have had a light sweeping across my heart and my mind, fighting off the urge to pick my camera back up and start shooting again. I have missed it terribly. But the funny thing is, I finally realized that I gave it up for reasons that no longer matter. And the more I accepted that, the more that little light started growing bigger. This is where the name Lightswept Photography came from. It's not only the light in a photograph that inspires us to create. Or the light from a field at dawn, or the light from a candle that's lighting a dark room on a stormy night... It's any light that we see, shining through even the smallest crack. For many of us, we will find that when we are in the darkest places, we find the brightest light. We just have to realize that if we want the light to sweep across our lives, we have to stand where it is shining.
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
